Growth at Imperial leads to new Cold Store deal
Growth of 20% year-on-year since the company branched into frozen products six years ago, has meant that Imperial Food & Packaging needs a much more robust and cost-effective refrigeration and freezer system. We have recently installed a bespoke internal freezer to the Gloucester-based wholesale company to meet its challenges not just now, but also to support future growth.
The food wholesaler has been operating for 12 years, supplying many takeaway shops throughout the South West of the UK. Siavash Vahabzadeh, owner of Imperial Food and Packaging, explains: “We branched into packaging, moving from ambient products to frozen products and have been growing approximately 20% every year since.
“Our growth has meant that we needed more sophisticated storage solutions, at the same time as our existing units were nearing the end of their lives. We chose to work with Cold Store Rentals, whose team has supplied us with a bespoke internal freezer which we’ve been able to offset against our profits. It makes a lot more sense for us financially rather than investing capital in buying a new unit which would put a strain on our balance sheet.”
The new bespoke internal freezer features 1800mm double leaf doors and a 4000kg heavy duty floor, suitable for working with a pallet truck without the need for concrete flooring.
Siavash continues, “The new unit looks great and is very reliable – a great way of financing the freezers. As our business continues to grow into new geographical areas, we expect that we will soon need another unit from Cold Store Rentals.”
